Drilling

A drilling is a round hole square to a face of the part.

When to use it

Use a drilling for bolt holes, dowel holes and pipe runs. Leave Through on for a hole that goes all the way through the part.

Fields

Field	Unit	Range or options	Default	What it changes
Position X	mm	from 0	1500	Centre of the hole along the part.
Position Y	mm	from 0	60	Centre of the hole across the face.
Diameter	mm	from 1	10	Hole diameter.
Face		Top, Bottom, Front, Back	Front	The side of the part the processing is on.
Through			on	On: the hole runs through the part. Off: it stops at the depth.
Depth	mm	from 0	20	How deep the hole goes when it is not through. Shown only for some settings of the other fields.
Countersink Ø	mm	from 1	No countersink	Countersink at the mouth of the hole, so a bolt head or washer sits flush. Hundegger only: BTLx has no parameter for it.
Countersink depth	mm	from 1	No depth	Depth of the countersink. Unset means no countersink depth. Shown only for some settings of the other fields.

Default: what Add fills in on a 3000 mm part of 120 x 120 mm.

Add a drilling

1. Select the part in the Parts list.
2. Under Extra processings, click Add.
3. Type drill in the search field and pick Drilling.
4. Set Face, Position X and Position Y.
5. Set Diameter. Switch Through off to set a Depth.
6. Check that the part shows a green check. If not, open the Issues tab.

Caution

A countersink is written for Hundegger machines only. BTLx has no field for it, so a BTLx export gives a warning.
